What it is used for: Migraine.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Used for the prevention and treatment of migraine & vertigo.
How it works: Flunarizine is a selective calcium antagonist. It prevents cellular calcium overload by reducing excessive transmembrane calcium influx. Flunarizine has no effect on contractility or conduction of the heart.
Active ingredient: Flunarizine.
Reported side effects: Rhinitis , Increased appetite , Depression , Somnolence , Constipation , Myalgia , Menstruation irregular , Breast pain , Weight increased , Abdominal pain upper , Fatigue , Depressive Symptom, Sleep disorder, Apathy , Torticollis, Tinnitus, Lethargy, Paraesthesia, Sluggishness, Restlessness , Coordination Abnormal, Disorientation , Muscle Spasms, Muscle Twitching , Generalised Oedema, Asthenia, Oedema Peripheral.
Known drug interactions: Alcohol, hypnotics or tranquillisers

Adults : Treatment is started at 10 mg daily (at night) for adult patients aged 18 to 64 years and at 5 mg daily for elderly patients aged 65 years and older. Children : Not recommended . Always consult your doctor or pharmacist for dose adjustments.
Active ingredient: Flunarizine. Labelled strength: 5mg.
- It is contraindicated in patients with a history of depressive illness, or with pre-existing symptoms of Parkinson’s disease or other extrapyramidal disorders.
- In rare cases fatigue may increase progressively during flunarizine therapy: in this event, the therapy should be discontinued.
- The recommended dose should not be exceeded.
- Talk to your doctor if you are elderly, as the medicine may give rise to depressive illness, Parkinson’s Disease or a similar disease.
- Treatment with flunarizine may give rise to extrapyramidal and depressive symptoms and reveal Parkinsonism, especially in predisposed patients, such as the elderly. Therefore, it should be used with caution in such patients .
Store this medicine at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
