What it is used for: Allergy.

Indications as listed by the manufacturer: This medicine is used to relieve: • Symptoms of hayfever and other allergies such as sneezing, runny nose and burning, itchy eyes • Symptoms of skin allergies such as rash, itching or urticaria (hives) .

How it works: It works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction.

Active ingredient: Cetirizine Dihydrochloride.

Reported side effects: If you experience any of the following, stop taking this medicine and talk to your doctor: Confusion , Hallucinations , Abnormal liver function tests , Rapid heartbeat , Loss of consciousness . Other effects which may occur include: Common (affecting 1 in 100 to 1 in 10 people): Headache and dizziness , Drowsiness or tiredness , Restlessness , Dry mouth, sore throat , Upset stomach, diarrhoea, nausea , Runny nose . Uncommon (affecting 1 in 1000 to 1 in 100 people): Agitation , Weakness , Malaise , Pins & needles , Itching , Rash , Abdominal pain .

Known drug interactions: CNS suppresants , alcohol

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: Recommended dose is 10mg once daily. A 5mg starting dose (1 half tablet) may be proposed if this leads to satisfactorycontrol of the symptoms. Children aged 6 to 12 years: 5mg twice daily (a half tablet twice daily). Adolescents above 12 years: 10mg once daily (1 tablet). A 5mg starting dose (a half tablet) may be proposed if this leads to satisfactory control of the symptoms OR As directed by your physician .

Active ingredient: Cetirizine Dihydrochloride. Labelled strength: 10MG.
