Coenzyme Q10 may boost the production of the prostaglandin prostacyclin (PGI2) a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation , or it may enhance the sensitivity of arterial smooth muscle to PGI2 , or both . Other Cardiovascular Diseases : Other cardiovascular conditions that may benefit from CoQ10 supplementation include angina , acute myocardial infarction , arrhythmias , protection during cardiac surgery , Neurological conditions : Parkinsons disease : Research suggests CoQ10 may play a role in the cellular dysfunction found in the Parkinson's disease (PD) , providing a protective agent for Parkinsonian patients .
