200ml Syrup
In stock at selected branches
Total for 1 pack: Rs. 1,240
What it is used for: Osteoporosis.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Calcitriol is indicated in the management of hypocalcemia in patients undergoing chronic renal dialysis. It has been shown to significantly reduce elevated parathyroid hormone levels. Reduction of PTH has been shown to result in an improvement in renal osteodystrophy.
How it works: As an active form of vitamin D3, calcitriol elevates the plasma levels of calcium by stimulating intestinal calcium uptake, increasing reabsorption of calcium by the kidneys, and possibly increasing the release of calcium from skeletal stores.
Active ingredient: Calcitriol.
Reported side effects: The early and late signs and symptoms of vitamin D intoxication associated with hypercalcemia include: Early Weakness, headache, somnolence, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, muscle pain, bone pain, metallic taste, anorexia, abdominal pain and epigastric discomfort. Late Polyuria, polydipsia, anorexia, weight loss, nocturia, conjunctivitis (calcific), pancreatitis, photophobia, rhinorrhea, pruritus, hyperthermia, decreased libido, elevated BUN, albuminuria, hypercholesterolemia, elevated SGOT and SGPT, ectopic calcification, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, nephrocalcinosis, sensory disturbance, dehydration, apathy, and, rarely, overt psychosis.
Known drug interactions: Concomitant use of magnesium-containing preparations should be used with caution or avoided since such use may lead to the development of hypermagnesemia. Corticosteroids with glucocorticoid activity may counteract the bone and mineral metabolism effects of vitamin D analogues. Cytochrome P450 enzyme-inducing anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine, phenobarbital and phenytoin mayreduce the effects of vitamin D because they increase vitamin D catabolism.
Oral: Adults - Initially 0.25mcg initially daily. 1-2mcg daily increasing if necessary by increments of 0.25-0.5mcg to max 2-3mcg. Children : Not recommended . OR As directed by your physician .
Active ingredient: Calcitriol. Labelled strength: 0.25mcg.
Store this medicine at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
Manufactured by Calibin Pharmaceuticals (Pvt) Ltd.. Country of origin: Pakistan.

Rider was on time and the item was properly bubble-wrapped. No complaints.
Fine quality, wrong choice on my part — I should have asked the pharmacist first about the strength.
Arrived in a plain bag, nothing written on the outside. Good for something you would rather not advertise.
The product is genuine but did not suit me personally. Customer service handled the return without any argument.
