What it is used for: Scabies.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: This medication is used to treat scabies. Scabies is a skin infection caused by mites that burrow into the skin.
How it works: The mechanism of action of crotamiton as a general antipruritic has been reported in which crotamiton inhibits TRPV4 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 4) channel that is expressed in the skin and primary sensory neuron.
Active ingredient: Crotamiton + Sulphur.
Reported side effects: Worsening skin irritation (such as itching, redness) may occur.
