Medigesic Tablets Forte 30s

What it is used for: Muscle Relaxant.

Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain of acute musculoskeletal disorders. For the relief of discomfort associated with acute painful musculoskeletal conditions and for the relief of painful skeletal muscle spasm associated with muscle injury , surgery , sprains and strains , low-back pain , prolapsed intervertebral disc , fractures before and after reduction and immobilization and acute torticollis.

How it works: Orphenadrine is a skeletal muscle relaxant. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic . Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant. It works by stimulating the brain.

Active ingredient: Orphenadrine , Paracetamol , Caffeine.

Reported side effects: Orphenadrine: More common reactions : The known adverse effects include dryness of the mouth, tachycardia, palpitation, urinary hesitancy or retention, blurred vision, dilation of the pupils, increased oculartension, weakness, nausea, headache, dizziness, constipation and drowsiness. These effects can usually be eliminated by reducing the dose. Less common reactions : Sedation, skin rashes and other allergic reactions are very uncommon adverse effects. Infrequently an elderly patient may experience some degree of mental confusion. Very rare cases of aplastic anaemia associated with the use of orphenadrine have been reported. Paracetamol : Reports of adverse reactions are rare. Although the following reactions have been reported, a causal relationship to the administration of paracetamol has been neither confirmed nor refuted; dyspepsia, nausea, allergic and haematological reactions.

Known drug interactions: Phenothiazines , metoclopramide , propantheline, antidepressants with anticholinergic properties and narcotic analgesics , Paracetamol , alcohol or anticonvulsant medicines.

Adults : 1 tablet three times daily or as directed by physician.
