What it is used for: Melasma.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Short term treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face .
How it works: Fluocinolone acetonide 0.01% is a mild corticosteroid that reduces inflammation. Hydroquinone 4% is a depigmenting agent that interrupts the formation and synthesis of melanin to help lighten the skin. Tretinoin 0.05% works by increasing the skin cell turnover rate, which helps exfoliate the skin.
Active ingredient: Fluocinolone Acetonide , Hydroquinone, Tretinoin.
Reported side effects: Erythema , irritation , hyper or hypopigmentation.
Known drug interactions: Keratolytics .

Adults : Apply once or twice daily for minimum 8 wk. Children : Not recommended. OR As directed by your physician.

- Only treat areas that your dermatologist has specifically evaluated. For individual brown lesions (Lentigines), the maximum duration of therapy should be 3 months. Lentigines are benign lesions; however, in some cases, they may evolve into skin cancer. Any lesion that persists, recurs or changes in any way (darkening, thickening, and enlarging) should be reevaluated by your dermatologist.
- Before using hydroquinone topical, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have liver or kidney disease.
- This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. DO NOT USE this medication if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.
- Avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays. Use a sunscreen (minimum SPF 30) and wear protective clothing if you must be out in the sun.
Store this medicine at room temperature, away from direct light and heat.
