Duphaston Tablets 10mg 2x10s

What it is used for: Female Infertility.

Indications as listed by the manufacturer: For the prevention of threatened and habitual miscarriages. Also indicate for the treatment of Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding problems and other menstrual irregularities , Infertility due to inadequate luteal phase.

How it works: It is used to treat problems which you may get when your body is not making enough of its own progestogen hormone. This is normally produced in your ovaries from puberty until your menopause. The progestogen (dydrogesterone) in Dydrogesterone replaces this missing hormone.

Active ingredient: Dydrogesterone.

Reported side effects: Headache, migraine , feeling sick (nausea) , breast pain/tender breasts , painful, heavy or irregular periods , no periods or periods happening less often than normal , weight gain , rash, severe itching or hives , feeling depressed , feeling dizzy , being sick (vomiting) , low levels of red blood cells (haemolytic anaemia) , hypersensitivity reactions , your body holding onto more water than usual (fluid retention) , swelling of the breasts , feeling sleepy .

Known drug interactions: Phenobarbital, phenytoin or carbamazepine , Rifampicin, rifabutin, nevirapine, efavirenz , ritonavir or nelfinavir , insulin.

Adults : 1 tab twice daily from day 5 to day 25 of the cycle. Children : Not applicable . Ask your doctor or Pharmacist for dose adjustment.

Active ingredient: Dydrogesterone. Labelled strength: 10mg.
