Sleep & Stress

Fix the routine first — supplements only support what habit starts.

Most poor sleep in otherwise healthy adults is behavioural rather than medical: irregular bed times, late caffeine, screens in bed, and lying awake in frustration. A fixed wake-up time is the single most effective change.

Magnesium glycinate and a wind-down routine help some people, and are safe to try. Sedating antihistamines sold for sleep are best kept for occasional use — tolerance builds within days.

When to see a doctor

See a doctor if poor sleep persists beyond a month despite a steady routine, if you snore heavily and wake unrefreshed, or if you fall asleep during the day.
