Histazolin 5ml Eye Drops

What it is used for: Eye Allergy.

Indications as listed by the manufacturer: It is used to prevent the itching, inflammation and watery eyes. It reduces the redness, swelling and congestion in the mucous membranes of the eye. It helps to ease the eye's symptoms caused by an allergy.

How it works: Sodium cromoglicate eye drops relieve the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis by reducing the release of a chemical called histamine which causes inflammation. Tetrahydrozoline is a decongestant used to relieve redness in the eyes caused by minor eye irritations (such as smog, swimming, dust, or smoke). It belongs to a class of drugs known as sympathomimetic amines. It works by temporarily narrowing the blood vessels in the eye.

Active ingredient: Sodium Cromoglycate , Tetrahydrozoline (HCl).

Reported side effects: Stinging/redness in the eye, widened pupils, or blurred vision may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly .

Known drug interactions: Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use .

Instill 1-2 drops in your eye(s) three to four times daily or as directed by the physician or the pharmacist.
