ICI
A tablet containing Memantine Hydrochloride, indicated for Alzheimer.
100g Cream
In stock at selected branches
Total for 1 pack: Rs. 1,080
What it is used for: Alzheimer.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Treatment of patients with moderately severe to severe Alzheimer’s disease .
How it works: There is evidence that malfunctioning of glutamatergic neurotransmission, in particular at N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA)-receptors, contributes to both expression of symptoms and disease progression in neurodegenerative dementia. Memantine is a voltage-dependent, moderate-affinity uncompetitive NMDA-receptor antagonist. It blocks the effects of pathologically elevated tonic levels of glutamate that may lead to neuronal dysfunction .
Active ingredient: Memantine Hydrochloride.
Reported side effects: Common: Headache, sleepiness, constipation, elevated liver function test, dizziness, balance disorders, shortness of breath, high blood pressure and drug hypersensitivity ; Uncommon: Tiredness, fungal infections, confusion, hallucinations, vomiting, abnormal gait, heart failure and venous blood clotting (thrombosis/thromboembolism).
Known drug interactions: L-dopa, dopaminergic agonists, and anticholinergics , antispasmodic medicines, dantrolene or baclofen , amantadine , cimetidine, ranitidine, procainamide, quinidine, quinine and nicotine , hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) , dextromorphan , oral anticoagulants .
Adults: The maximum daily dose is 20 mg per day. In order to reduce the risk of side-effects the maintenance dose is achieved by upward titration of 5 mg per week over the first 3 weeks as follows: Treatment should be started with 5 mg daily (in the morning) during the 1st week. In the 2nd week 10 mg per day and in the 3rd week 15 mg per day is recommended. From the 4th week on, treatment can be continued with the recommended maintenance dose of 20 mg per day. Elderly: The recommended dose for patients over the age of 65 years is 20 mg per day. OR As directed by your physician.

Fine quality, wrong choice on my part — I should have asked the pharmacist first about the strength.
The product is genuine but did not suit me personally. Customer service handled the return without any argument.
Rider was on time and the item was properly bubble-wrapped. No complaints.
Second time ordering. Batch and expiry were printed clearly and matched what the site listed.
Genuine product, sealed and well within expiry. Delivery reached Karachi the next day.
Been using this for a few months now. Ordering here is cheaper than my local shop and the packing is always careful.
