What it is used for: Osteoarthritis.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Treatment of degenerative joint disease ( osteoarthritis & related disease ) and also symptomatic relief in long-term treatment of osteoarthrtis.
How it works: Diacerein works by blocking the actions of interleukin-1 beta, a protein involved in the inflammation and destruction of cartilage that plays a role in the development of symptoms of degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis.
Active ingredient: Diacerein.
Reported side effects: Diarrhoea , Stomach discomfort and pain , Nausea , Vomiting , Yellowing of skin and eyes , Urine discoloration , Increase in liver enzyme levels , Allergic skin reaction.
Known drug interactions: Aluminium and magnesium containing antacids.
Adults : 1 Capsule twice daily. Children : Not recommended. OR As directed by your physician .
