What it is used for: Pain & Inflammation.
Indications as listed by the manufacturer: Pelvic inflammatory diseases ; Sprains ; Fractures ; Accidental injuries .
How it works: It contains proteolytic anti-inflammatory enzymes, which is used to resolve inflammation, reduce oedema and hasten healing of wound. The pain produced by inflammation is reduced as the inflammation subsides. After trauma and muscle and soft tissue injury it reduces the recovery time and reduces pain early in the healing phase.
Active ingredient: Trypsin , Chymotrypsin.
Reported side effects: Diarrhoea , Shortness of breath , Skin rash or itching , Stomach pain .
Known drug interactions: Concurrent use with anticoagulant medications such as Clopidogrel, Warfarin, or Heparin should be avoided because it increases the risk of bleeding. When this treatment is combined with antibiotics (drugs that cure infections) including Penicillin and Chloramphenicol, the risk of serious side effects increases (nausea, vomiting, stomach upset and diarrhoea).
